Introduction to GPS ToolKit Pro 1.0
GPS ToolKit Pro is an ActiveX object that makes it easy to add GPS support to any Visual Basic, Visual C++, Delphi, Excel, or scripting project that supports ActiveX controls. GPS data (including lat/lon, speed, course, altitude, and dozens of other datasets) can be accessed through GPS ToolKit's properties, and GPS ToolKit's multithreaded event-based architecture notifies your application when data has been updated, saving you from having to write messy polling routines.
GPS ToolKit Pro:
- Works with all GPS units that support NMEA 0183 output (that's just about all of them!)
- Provides an intuitive interface that makes GPS data availible through straightforward properties.
- Can playback NMEA 0183 input files in various speeds, including real-time playback.
- Notifies your application when fix, naviagation, or status has been updated.
- Reports position, altitude, speed, and distance in a number of formats and units.
- Requires only one file to be distributed along with your application.
- Works with development environments such as Visual C++, Visual Basic, and Delphi, as well as scripting environments like Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Can be redistributed royalty-free (as part of your application).
- Does not require knowledge of COM or ATL to use.
- Supports Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.
- Is written in Visual C++ 6.0 using ATL 3.0 so that it is small and fast.
